Getting to Babanango Game Reserve

Babanango Game Reserve is situated in the captivating region of Zululand, within the province of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Babanango Game Reserve is an easy 3-hour drive from Durban (228km).

With an altitude difference of approximately 800 meters, Babanango Game Reserve showcases stunning landscapes. Apart from its natural beauty and attractions, Babanango Game Reserve has historical significance due to its proximity to the famous KZN battlefield sites - Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift.

Summer (September to April), is hot and humid, while winter (May to August) is dry and cold.

Directions from King Shaka International Airport

There are 3 toll gates en route to Babanango Game Reserve (bring cash or a credit card)

From King Shaka, merge onto the N2 Kwadukuza towards Tongaat and travel 79km.

Take Exit 277 (the Gingindlovu turnoff) for the R66, continue for 800m then turn left onto the R66 towards Gingindlovu/Eshowe/Ulundi.

Travel for 103km passing through Melmoth town. Please ignore all signs referring to Babanango Town. Continue on the R66 until you merge onto the R34, towards Vryheid. Continue for 41km. Look out for the Babanango Game Reserve sign on your left.
