Getting to Kapama Karula Lodge, Kapama Game Reserve

Kapama Private Game Reserve is home to Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Leopard and Buffalo and is known for its high density of game.

The Klaserie River and surrounding vegetation offers a superb habitat for Leopard, Hippo and Crocodile. This water source attracts many game species within Kapama Private Game Reserve. Kapama Karula Lodge is one of a group of luxury lodges and camps in Kapama Private Game Reserve. This Limpopo reserve is set deep in the bushveld, but still within reach of habitation and is therefore able to offer guests a variety of satisfying outings and experiences for a truly memorable safari, wedding, honeymoon or conference.

Flights

Located within the Greater Kruger National Park wilderness area, Kapama Private Game Reserve borders on the boundary of Eastgate Airport. It is a 1 hour flight from the Johannesburg International Airport (ORTIA) to Eastgate. Guests will be met by Kapama staff and transferred to the camp which takes a few minutes in a 4x4 safari vehicle. There are regular scheduled daily flights into Eastgate Airport from Johannesburg or guests can arrange charters from other centres.

Self-drive route (4.5 hour drive)

Take either the N12 or the N4 from Johannesburg to Witbank and Middelburg. Turn onto the R540 towards Belfast, Dullstroom and Lydenburg. Dullstroom is a quaint old-world town famous for its trout fishing - an ideal halfway stop. From Lydenburg proceed on the R36 to Orighstad, through the Strydom Tunnel to Hoedspruit. At Hoedspruit, take the R40 in the direction of Klaserie. The main entrance for Kapama Private Game Reserve is on the left hand side.
