By Road - From Cape Town
Take the N1 out of Cape Town and take the N7 off-ramp towards Malmesbury before you reach Century City / Ratanga Junction. Drive past Malmesbury towards Moreesburg, Piketberg and Citrusdal and enter the beautiful Olifants River Valley.
Drive pass the Clanwilliam Dam situated on the right hand side of the road and turn right onto the R364 to Lamberts Bay / Clanwilliam. At the T-junction, turn right to Clanwilliam. When you enter Clanwilliam, a petrol station will be situated on your left. If you require petrol, fill up at this station.
Also remember to reduce your tyre pressure (remember to re-inflate your tyres on your way back). Please call Bushmans Kloof as there is no mobile reception pass this point and this way your arrival will be anticipates. Continue driving straight on the R364 towards Wupperthal and Calvinia.
Cross a bridge before reaching a gravel road. Drive along the gravel road for about 34km (21.12 miles) past Louis Leipoldt's grave. Drive over the tarred Pakhuis pass and cross a low bridge over the Brandewyns River. Drive past a sign on the left indicating Travellers Rest.
After about 1km (0.62 miles), turn right at the Bushmans Kloof gate and continue straight along the concrete road. Cross a small bridge below the dam wall and drive straight towards Bushmans Kloof. On arrival, please park next to the big Blue Gum trees at the reception building.
By Air
Guests can choose to fly to Bushmans Kloof either by helicopter or small plane. Bushmans Kloof boasts its own private airstrip. The flight from Cape Town takes about 45 minutes and the transfer to the lodge takes about 20 minutes.
