West Coast National Park activities revolve around observing wildlife and enjoying self-drive routes through spring flowers, hiking and biking, birding and water sports. Picnic sites and the Geelbek Restaurant provide welcome places to refresh and enjoy this scenic Western Cape reserve.

The restaurant is situated on the lagoon in the Geelbek main house, a Cape Dutch building and National Monument built in 1744. Geelbek Restaurant has a reputation for fine dining in a beautiful setting where guests can enjoy meals in the sunshine and watch the Flamingos. The restaurant serves traditional food with a colonial flair – some favourite recipes are more than 300 years old. There is an obstacle course for kids to enjoy and the restaurant is family friendly.

Outdoor enthusiasts and those on a West Coast National Park holiday can really stretch their legs on the various walks and trails or set off on great biking routes. Water sports can be enjoyed in specific areas on the lagoon and whale watching in season is possible from Tsaarsbank which overlooks the sea.

Conferences and Weddings

Geelbek’s setting is a paradise for nature and culture lovers. This diversity makes it an ideal place for any corporate conference and teambuilding for groups of 5-60. Geelbek is also a popular wedding venue. Marriage vows are said in a 100 year old church on the beach in Churchaven, a small white-washed village. The Reception is held at the restaurant. The marquee can comfortably seat from 60 to 200 people. Geelbek provides an all-inclusive wedding service with a wedding co-ordinator.
