Shongweni Water Sports
Canoeing, yachting and wind surfing are permitted at Shongweni Dam. Canoe hire is available on site. Although no motorised craft are permitted, electric motors are acceptable
Game Viewing
On a Shongweni safari guests could enjoy a 'meal in the bush', such as ‘Champagne Breakfast Safari’ or the ‘Snacks at Sunset Drive’ as well as a ‘Boerewors Night Adventure’.

Rock Climbing
A world-renowned rock-climbing venue can be found at Shongweni. This excellent site offers good quality KwaZulu-Natal Group Sandstone with some of the finest overhangs imaginable. The 2 overhangs, ‘The Wave Cave’ and ‘The Rasta Cave’, are rated in the 30's(SA); 5.13 (USA); 8 (France).
Birding
Shongweni Dam and Game Reserve is the home of over 220 species of birds due to the variations in habitat and natural environment. Visitors on game drives or trails may encounter the elusive Narina Trogon. White-backed Night Heron can be viewed from canoes and rock climbers can encounter Martial, Crowned and Black Eagle and even nesting Black Strols.
