On an Ai-Ais / Richtersveld Transfrontier National Park holiday, visitors can find rugged scenery, amazing desert flora and serenity on adventurous trails. Around 200 bird species and many highly adaptive animals call this park home.

One of the most popular Ai-Ais / Richtersveld Transfrontier National Park activities is viewing splendid spring flowers which usually appear after good rains between June and October. The park is especially suited to 4x4 adventures and hikes on various routes through the park.

Activities at Ai Ais / Richtersveld National Park are best undertaken in the morning or late afternoon when the temperatures are cooler. A swimming pool is available at Sendelingsdrif Rest Camp or guests can enjoy a rejuvenating swim in the Orange River. Guests in vehicles who would like to cross the river on the pontoon should enquire in advance if it is running (subject to water levels).
