Likweti Lodge & Sanctuary is situated a mere 5 kilometres (3 miles) from the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport and 27 kilometres (16.7 miles) from Nelspruit, the capital of Mpumalanga, South Africa.
The highest point on the reserve is 1023 metres above sea level and the lowest at 638 metres above sea level. The reserve is ideally situated to explore the majestic beauty of the Lowveld escarpment in Mpumalanga, South Africa.
The reserve lies on the edge of the Lowveld, which is situated in a subtropical climate zone and has an annual summer rainfall, of approximately 800 mm, which starts in September and lasts until May. While humid conditions prevail during the summer months, the winter months of June, July and August are dry and mild.
It is not too far inland to enjoy the warming effects of the Indian Ocean and yet is sufficiently far to the north to escape most of the cold outbreaks of sub-polar air, which invades the southern-half of South Africa in the winter.
