Stretch out in comfort after a day of exploring! Visitors staying in Cederberg Wilderness Area accommodation can relax in self-catering cottages or camp in sublime surroundings. A hot shower or bath at the end of an exciting day is the ideal way to round off time spent in these beautiful surroundings.

Cederberg Wilderness Area accommodation

Numbers of people allowed into this nature reserve in South Africa are limited per day (groups are kept to a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 12). Visitors should book well in advance to avoid disappointment. Firewood can be purchased in the reserve and the rivers are suitable for swimming.

Rietdak Cottage

Rietdak is a fully equipped charming stone cottage situated at Algeria. It can sleep 4 people in two bedrooms - linen and towels supplied. Guests will enjoy a luxury stay as the cottage is equipped with electricity, hot water, bath, shower, flush toilet, a fully equipped kitchen with cutlery and crockery. There is a fireplace with barbeque grid.

Garskraal Cottage

Garskraal is a fully equipped 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage at Algeria, which can accommodate 6 people in luxury – linen and towels supplied. Each bathroom has hot water, bath, shower and a flush toilet. The cottage is equipped with electricity, a fully equipped kitchen and cutlery and crockery. There is a fireplace with barbeque grid.

Waenhuis Cottage

This cottage with its breathtaking mountain views is situated near the Algeria Office. It has one bedroom and 2 bunks in the living area, sleeping 4 people altogether - linen and towels are supplied.

There is a bathroom with a hot water shower (gas geyser) and flush toilet, a kitchen with a gas fridge and stove, cutlery and crockery. Solar power lighting is used as the cottage has no electricity. A paraffin lamp is provided - guests should bring extra candles. The cottage has a fireplace and barbeque grid.

Peerboom, Sas-se-Werf and Prik-se-Werf Cottages

These country cottages are situated close to the Algeria office near Uitkyk Pass. Peerboom is set on the riverside and Prik-se-Werf has wonderful views. Each cottage sleeps 4 people in two bedrooms – linen and towels are supplied.

There is a bathroom with a hot water shower (gas geyser) and flush toilet, a kitchen with a gas fridge and stove, cutlery and crockery. Solar power lighting is used as the chalets have no electricity. A paraffin lamp is provided for each cottage - guests should bring extra candles. The cottages have fireplaces and barbeque grids.

Uitkyk Cottage

Uitkyk is a basic cottage with 2 bathrooms, accommodating 8 people in 3 separate rooms – linen and towels supplied. It is situated in the mountains near the Algeria office. Each bathroom has a hot water shower (gas geyser), bath and flush toilet, a kitchen with a gas fridge and stove, cutlery and crockery. Solar power lighting is used as the cottage has no electricity. A paraffin lamp is provided - guests should bring extra candles. The cottage has a fireplace and barbeque grid.

Algeria Campsite

The shady and grassy campsite at Algeria lies on the Rondegat River and has broad appeal. In summer the crystal clear pools are wonderful for swimming. All 48 campsites have power points and barbeque facilities. The sites are suitable for tents and / or caravans. Ablution facilities have hot and cold water, bath (women's ablution only) and showers, no toilet paper provided. Firewood is for sale.

Kliphuis Campsite

This campsite may no be open for bookings – visitors should enquire in advance. There are 10 shady sites along the river suitable for tents and / or caravans. There is no electricity. The river is great for swimming in summer. Ablutions have hot (gas) and cold water showers, no toilet paper provided.
