    Borakalalo National Park is situated 60km of Brits, it is a remote and peaceful area of unusual beauty and diversity set in Kalahari veld and woodland country.

    The Borakalalo National Park is situated 60kms north of Brits in pristine North West Province. The park is set in the Kalahari veld and woodland country, along the banks of the Moretele River and the 800ha Klipvoor Dam. Borakalalo National Park comprises of 13 500ha of woodland and open bushland.

    Birdlife at Borakalalo is prolific with over 350 bird species recorded, including 11 Eagles and 18 smaller raptors. The area boasts with splendid fishing spots and anglers can try their luck at catching that big one. The Moretele River which runs through the park is fringed with a beautiful stretch of riverine forest, and leads to the 800 hectare Klipvoor Dam, renowned for its fishing.

    Borakalalo is one of the North West's most diverse conservation areas where guests can walk freely along prescribed trails to enjoy the eco-diversity of this very special park. Guests can relax in complete solitude in their own secluded haven of tranquility, found within the wood-and-open bushland.

    Guests will enjoy the ultimate camping experience at the 3 camps, Moretele, Phudufudu and Pitjane, of Borakalalo National Park. All campsite are equipped with running water, however no electricity is provided, but the lack of the latter adds to the ambient setting of the camps.


    Rules and Conditions at Borakalalo National Park

  • Radios, TV's and tape recorders are not encouraged at the park.
  • The shop at the gate stocks limited supplies of fishing tackle and bait, wood and basic provisions.

  • April - September: 6am to 7pm
